Young Author's Workshop - A guide through the world or writing from searching for ideas to the final product.

Word Central - Hosted by Merriam-Webster. With appealing graphics and games, this site stresses the literary side of learning. Check out the daily "Buzzwords," a "Verse Composer" and "Build Your Own Dictionary".
Brain POP - Short animated "Web movies" on subjects ranging from the big bang theory to autumn leaves. Enjoy colorful cartoon characters like "Bob the ex-lab rat." Visit this site frequently and read the daily "Brain Buzz."
Haring Kids - Haring's paintings were not specifically created for young audiences, but their cartoon-like appeal has proven irresistible to children.
American Museum of Natural History - Contains amazing graphics and fun text, you can click on "paleontology" and find yourself in the Gobi Desert looking for fossils or reading a talk-show-style "interview" with a dinosaur.
MathStories - Features more than 4,000 word problems categorized by topic and difficulty level. Entire sections are devoted to math problems based on fairy tales and Harry Potter book series. KidsConnect - This site allows children to ask for information on any topic and receive an email response within 48 hours. Great for reports, science projects, and any fact-finding mission.
KnowZone - The activities at this site can be utilized by students to help them improve their performance on standardized tests and aid in their work in the classroom.
Why Ask Why - A long list of questions (and answers) to life's little mysteries, the site is a good place for kids to visit to learn something they have always wondered about and to get story ideas that are different and fun.
Virtual Frog Dissection Kit Version 2 - One of the most popular sites on the Web, this one lets you virtually dissect a frog. Very cool! The site is slow at times but well worth the wait.
