GATE DAY

Each year an event is held to showcase the products of the Gifted and Talented Students at a local public
venue. Displays from the academic program, art exhibits from the visual arts program and performances
from the performing arts program make for a very special day.

GATE Awards Ceremony

A ceremony is held each year at a local hotel to honor the achievements of participating students
participating in the Academic Challenge Bowl, National Forensic League, Math Counts, Math Olympiad and
the Secondary Theatre Arts Program.

PUBLICATION OF “PICKLED PAPAYA”

The GATE Program annually produces a booklet of creative writing and artwork. It is a collaborative effort by
the GATE Academic and GATE Visual and Performing Arts Programs.

MUSICAL PERFORMANCES

 The Secondary Theatre Program produces a musical each year for the public to enjoy. Some of the past
musicals include “Oklahoma!,” “High School Musical,” “South Pacific,” and numerous other popular shows. In addition,
the Elementary Music Program produces two productions each year, one in December and one in May
featuring the GATE All Island Honor Choir comprised of students from various elementary schools.
